Product Overview
A hammer union (also known as a hammer coupling) is a high-pressure quick connection made up and broken out with a coarse-threaded nut and a hammer, with no wrench or special torque tooling required. Because it can be assembled quickly and holds reliably, it is widely used on the mobile high-pressure lines of oil and gas operations, including kill and choke lines, cementing lines, acidising and well stimulation.
These unions are usually made of alloy steel and seal metal-to-metal, which withstands high pressure surges and corrosive conditions.

In plain terms: The figure number (Fig 1002 or Fig 1502, for example) indicates the size and pressure grade of the union, not a particular brand. Always state both the figure number and the thread size when ordering, because the unions on both sides of the line must share the same figure and size in order to make up correctly.
