Overview
JIC (Joint Industry Council) fittings with a 37-degree flare thread are among the most widely used hydraulic connection standards in the oil and gas industries and on heavy machinery, and are produced to ISO 8434-2 (equivalent to SAE J516). Tose'e Tejarat Sayyalat supplies these fittings in zinc-plated carbon steel or stainless steel, in sizes from dash -4 (7/16 inch) to dash -32 (2.1/2 inch).

In plain terms: JIC is the most common hydraulic connection type in North America and on a great deal of industrial machinery. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37-degree flare, with no need for PTFE tape or sealant on the cone — which is why over-tightening or cross-threading can cause a leak.
