Industrial flange

Industrial flanges for joining pipework, valves and process equipment to ASME/ANSI B16.5.

Product Overview

Industrial flanges are used to join sections of pipework, valves and process equipment, allowing a joint to be opened and remade without damaging the pipe. Tose'e Tejarat Sayyalat supplies flanges in a range of types to suit the project's technical requirement, including flanges welded to hose fittings and crimped assemblies.

Applications

  • Joining sections of pipework and industrial valves
  • Flanged connection of hose fittings and high-pressure equipment
  • Connection to process equipment in refineries, petrochemical plants and power stations

Flange pressure classes (ASME B16.5) — carbon steel example at ambient temperature

ClassApproximate permissible pressure at ambient temperature
Class 150Approx. 20 bar (285 psi)
Class 300Approx. 51 bar (740 psi)
Class 600Approx. 102 bar (1,480 psi)
Class 900Approx. 153 bar (2,220 psi)
Class 1500Approx. 255 bar (3,705 psi)
Class 2500Approx. 425 bar (6,175 psi)
Source: The values above are based on ASME/ANSI B16.5 for Group 1.1 carbon steel at ambient temperature and are given as a guide. The actual permissible pressure depends on the material group and the operating temperature, and must be determined from the standard's full P-T tables and the project datasheet. For an exact match, send your project specification to our sales department.

In plain terms: A flange's class number (150 or 300, for example) is not a pressure in psi or bar; it is a conventional rating whose actual permissible pressure varies with the flange material and the operating temperature. When requesting a quotation, therefore, always state both the flange class and the material (A105, A182 or stainless steel, for instance), not the class alone.
